Papakura Art Gallery

The Spine of The Land / Te Ua o Te Whenua, on show at Papakura Art Gallery from 16 August, includes works by emerging and nationally recognised artists from Papakura and the wider Auckland region, alongside a collaborative artwork made from hundreds of postcards by Papakura primary and intermediate school children that aims to spread awareness about Kauri Dieback Disease. The theme of ecology underpinning the schools’ postcard project gave rise to the curatorial framework for the selection of the other works in the exhibition, which are diverse in conceptual approaches, disciplines and mediums.
